3. Update on Eagle Projects:
Matthew Staten completed his project of building a footbridge at Champoeg
State Park. Troy Thomas has completed his project at the School for the
Deaf where he built a perimeter around a playground.
They are both finishing up paperwork and getting signatures.
4. Advancement Report:
Mike will get summer camp information to Paul G.
5. Facilities Report:
Tim and Michelle had some bids made on replacing the roof of the cabin.
We discussed pros and cons of composition roofs and metal roofs. We decided
on a composition roof, primarily because of cost. Kris moved and it was
seconded and passed that we have a 30- year composition roof put on. We
chose the green color. Michelle and Tim will check with Apperson Roofing
and Construction to see what the price would be. They will then let us
know by e-mail. The owner is a Boy Scout who is willing to do some of the
work for free. Connie suggested we use money from the trust fund since
the interest it is earning is so low right now so we need to ask Don if
he can get the money out for us.
6. Popcorn Sales:
Michelle F. is our coordinator and will be picking up the popcorn when
it is ready.
7. Wood Cut:
We discussed whether we would have an outing at one of the Mt. Hood
lodges this year and decided that although the boys very much enjoy it,
we would skip it this year. We will ask Byron if he would be willing to
coordinate a winter outing somewhere else. So it was moved, seconded and
passed that we will skip Wood Cut this year. Phlox will not be open again.
The Webelos may want to join the troop for the day if we have another winter
outing.
8. Webelos:
Charleen and Kim reported that Pack 101 would like to join up with
Troop 20 for Scouting for Food. They also would like to have some Den Chiefs.
They asked if it would be possible for a Webelos Den to use the cabin for
their den meetings on Thursday nights (except for our committee meeting
nights) due to the high cost of using the school facilities now. We told
them that that would work most of the time and Connie will get them a key.
Back to School night for several of the schools is Sept. 16 and we discussed
who would be going where.
9. Scoutmaster’s Report:
· The troop’s focus will be Wilderness Survival for September

Creek Horse Camp on the weekend of Nov. 21-23 if the Scouts approve and
the facility is available.

need to make two 25-mile rides and one 50-mile ride. The 25-mile rides
will be on Sept. 13 and 20.

25.
10. Committee Retreat:
Because of scheduling conflicts for several of us, we changed the dates
of the committee retreat to Nov. 8-9.
