Meet the Resident Birds
Oregon Raptor Center

kestrel ORC is currently home to several permanent resident birds, representing six different species. All of these birds are at the center as the result of a permanent disability that prevented them from being successfully released back into the wild. These birds are used for educational programs, serve as foster parents to abandoned / orphaned raptors or as display birds. These birds are not our pets. Oregon Raptor Center functions under state and federal permits. Please remember that wild birds do not make good pets and it is illegal to keep one without the supervision and authorization of the state and federal government.

All of these birds are in need of sponsors. For more information, see our AdoptARaptor program.

For more information on each of our birds, click on their name
(ex. Stanley). The files include (or will soon include) a photo of the bird and each bird's unique story. In the future, we hope to include sound recordings of some of the various birds, so check back frequently. To learn more about each species, click on the species name (ex. saw-whet owl).
