The Christian Church had its origin in the early 1800's on the American frontier. A number of individuals from different denominations were discouraged by the lack of spirituality in their churches and by the denominational divisions that separated believers. They urged others to give up their man-made creeds, drop denominational traditions, and encouraged them to imitate the teaching, practices, and unity of the Church as described in the New Testament of the Bible. These people eventually came together in a series of meetings in 1832 and the result was the formation of the Christian Church of America.

The Liberty congregation was founded after a series of Revival meetings in the old Liberty Grange Hall in 1937. The new congregation met and worshiped in the Liberty School. Land was purchased in 1942 and the original builing was built in 1949. In 1960, the church financed and built an education wing.

Throught the years, the church has ministered faithfully to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this community and to other nations through missionary efforts. By the grace of God, this congregation will continue to glorify Him by "living out the Great Commandment and carrying outh the Great Commission."
