It is Helen Wymore & Melissa Schaffner. Cascadia was the bloodline developed by Judy Daugherty and Helen Wymore. Judy started with two bitches linebred on Flakkee and combined those dogs with Helen's very special Beorn to create Cascadia. Since Judy's death, Helen and daughter Melissa have continued moving forward to breed sound, happy, and typey dogs.
It is Judi James in cooperation with Helen Wymore & Shannon Kelly. We strive to produce and exhibit the best! We are members of Keeshond Club of America and adhere to KCA's Code of Ethics. Our goal is to bred sound, healthy Keeshonden true to the standard with bright faces, great silhouettes and above all active, fun, long-lived and intelligent companions.

Shamrock is the bloodline developed by Shannon Kelly. Shannon has developed a strong line known for its bright color, sound bodies, and an bit o'the Irish twinkling in their eyes. Shannon has teamed up with Cascadia and Rainkees to continue bringing superior Keeshonden to the show and performance rings as well as on the their masters couches.
We adhere to the KCA Code of Ethics . We will not breed a dog unless we believe doing so will better the breed we love. We will not breed a dog unless we believe it is clear of hip dysplasia and other hereditary health defects. Find out more about what makes a responsible breeder by visiting Dog-Play's checklist
This webpage is a close to a 'kennel' as any of our dogs will ever get. Our adults grow up in our homes and receive the same daily attention, play, and care we expect our puppy buyers to give their dogs. Our puppies are born and raised in the smoke-free environment of our homes. We make sure the puppies are exposed to many people including children and seniors, multiple floor surfaces and environments, as well as neonatal exercises designed to enhance the human-canine bond.
Tryon was the kennel name of Jean Ellis and Andrea Haberman. Many quality dogs of today trace their roots to the Tryon dogs. Tryon's last litter produced CH Tryon's Beorn ROMX HOF. Jean and Andrea set a high ethical standard which would meet or exceed today's KCA Code of Ethics.
KCA means Keeshond Club of America. Register of merit (ROM) & ROMX (X means excellent) are awarded by KCA to a few select dogs and bitches who produce a certain number of champion puppies. Hall of Fame (HOF ) is awarded by KCA to dogs and bitches with outstanding show careers.
CH means champion. CD, CDX, UD are obedience titles. Unless noted, they are titles awarded by the American Kennel Club.
BIS means the dog won an all-breed best in show. BISS means the dog won best at a specialty show.
OFA means the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. OFA evaluates hip x-rays and rates the quality of dogs without hip dysplasia. OFA will not rate the hips of a dog under 2 years of age. We only breed to dogs with normal hips, usually only those with Good or Excellent ratings. OFA recently began a registry for elbows and patellas. Only the OFA information of our own dogs is listed. That doesn't mean others in the pedigrees haven't also been certified clear of dysplasia - just that we didn't list it here.
