Developed specifications and wrote interfaces between MM/3000 on HP3000 and custom shop floor system on HP9000, using Cobol, Sockets, and C++. Also developed specifications and wrote interfaces between MRP system and purchasing system (MM/3000 and PROMIS). Developed a way to transfer information between 6 facilities, result: shop floor order demand sent to correct manufacturing plant or purchasing division in correct part of the world within 12 hours of order entry - this allowed HP to take orders for custom configurations of Laserjet 4 printers and ship within 14 hours.

Prior to this system, all orders were processed manually, the system allowed the business to expand, approximately 25% per year for the next 4 years. Maintained applications. Developed processing routines to handle all screen input/output functions through Vplus - routines allowed batch input/output - allowing any application to be converted to EDI expeditiously. Designed and implemented full EDI processing with customers and vendors - resulting in immediate increase in business of 7%.

This computerized system replaced a manual magnetic board, giving the rest of the company access to equipment availability. Result was an increase in Return On Investment of 8%. Barcoding: Led a team of 3 developers in the modification of all programs to accept barcode input. Reduced data entry errors.
