Pot Roast

This can be done in a crock pot or in the oven. It's better in a crock pot if you have one.

Servings: about 6
Preperation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 to 8 hours
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 to 3 cloves sliced garlic
  • 3 pound roast - the cheapest you can get from the grocery
  • 2 tablespoons Worchesteshire sauce

Preperation

  • If you are using an oven, heat it to 250
  • Chop the onion, celery and carrots, slice the garlic, put about half of each them into either the crock pot or a baking dish for which you have a cover
  • Salt and pepper the roast, on all sides, liberally
  • Place the roast on top of the onion, celery, carrots and garlic
  • Pour the Worchesteshire sauce over the roast
  • Spread the remainder of the onion, celery, carrots and garlic around on top of the roast
  • Put the lid on
  • Set the crock pot on low for 8 hours, or bake at 250 for about 5 hours
  • Make roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddin about 1 hour before the roast is finished.
Note: You can speed up the crock pot a little by setting it on high for 2 hours then low for 3 hours.

This roast will fall apart when you try to remove it from the baking dish or crock pot!

Enjoy!
