Meet the new principal of Turner School

by Lindsay, Hannah, and Cassie
Mrs. Moorefield

Mrs. Moorefield is our new principal. She is here to make some changes. The biggest change she would like to make is for the school to have a school wide behavior plan. She has many responsibilities here at Turner. For example, she has to go into classrooms and observe teachers teaching. She talks to parents, does recess and lunch duty, and she has to talk to kids. After the school year is done Mrs. Moorefield is going to try to spend as much time with her child, and try to relax.

Mrs. Moorefield has worked in the Tuner area for about five years. Before she came here, she taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, and was an assistant principal. When she moved here she was 25 years old, and had graduated from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She chose to get her Masters Degree and her administrator’s license before she came here. To become a principal she worked with a principal for 360 hours. Mrs. Moorefield decided to be a principal so that she can be more involved with teachers, kids, and parents, because she wants to help them make a bigger difference in kids lives.

Mrs. Moorefield took a few minutes from her busy day to answer some of our questions.
