On March 5, Mr. Klewitz was taped to the wall in the gym. Yes, he actually volunteered for this. For every day a student reached their reading goal, the student was given a piece of tape. As you can see by the photo below, thats a lot of tape.
We wanted to find out how Mr. Klewitz felt when we removed the mat from his feet, and he said, It was very weird because the gravity was trying to pull me down.
The Kindergarten and first graders had to read 15 minutes each day, second graders and third graders had to read for 20 minutes, fourth graders 30 minutes., and fifth graders 45 minutes. Our total goal for the school was to read 50,000 minutes. Our total was 51,624.
When the students finally were done taping him, he walked around the school letting kids sign his duck tape suit.
