Colonial fair

by Devon S.

Ms. Ybarra and Mrs. Worden put on a Colonial Fair that showed us what it was like to live during the pioneer days. Students dressed up as pioneers and provided all kinds of activities for us.

They had many kinds of games, like a card finding game where someone showed you a card, then scrambled all the cards up, and you had to find the card you were shown. There was a quiz to see what you know about colonial tools. They had a spinning wheel and showed us how yarn was made. What most people seemed to like the most was the different types of food, especially when we got to make butter then got a piece of bread and dried fruit. Students showed us some colonial tools that were used to hunt, and we also got to see some of the colonial dances.

These stuffed game birds are examples of what the colonists hunted for food.
